IKEA Family Event

Venture to Sweetwater’s IKEA Miami location for an afternoon of super-cool science with our “Freeze-It!” science lab! Watch as objects such as balloons and flowers shatter, explode, or strengthen as we explore the freezing effects of liquid nitrogen (-325°F!) on everyday items. Unique experiments also include creating indoor clouds and freezing bubbles in midair.

Virginia Key North Point Shoreline Cleanup

Join Frost Science's MUVE (Museum Volunteers for the Environment) to participate in a citizen science shoreline cleanup at Virginia Key North Point. As volunteers collect trash from the shoreline, they will log each item into the Marine Debris Tracker smartphone app.

Family Day in the Miami Design District

Get healthy with the Institute of Contemporary Art and family-focused community organizations—Frost Science included! Attendees can spend an afternoon at the museum and share in the experience of both experimental exhibitions and creative activities. Then, partake in our “Gross Bodies” science lab, making take-home scabs and mucus while learning how our bodies work so hard to keep us safe!
