Snout beetles are also called billbugs and weevils. There are more than 40,000. They are the largest family of beetles. The mouth parts of adult snout beetles are at the tip of a long snout. It's used to dig into fruits, seeds, and plant parts. Many snout beetles are serios crop pests. Most snout beetles are brown or gray, but some tropical species are brightly colored.
