This story was put together by putting the creative thoughts of many of the Kindergarten students who were asked what kind of dinosaur they would have wanted to be and why. Final story was put together by Mrs. Sharon Tomaszewski, Teacher's Aide. By using the masks that were made, the children can take turns "playing their stories out" as skits.
My class and I had just gotten back from a wonderful trip to the museum. When I got home, I was telling my Dad all about the big, big dinosaurs that were on display. They weren't real dinosaurs, of course, but they looked so real. When it was time for bed that night, my Dad came to tuck me in. I was still very excited about my day with the dinosaurs.
"I wonder what it was like to be a din osaur," I said to Dad. "Well," he chuckled, luckily you were born a boy, and not a dinosaur! Just imagine what it would have been like to be born a dinosaur!". When I fell asleep that night, I wondered what kind of dinosaur I would want to be, and I had the most amazing dream.

I was a big, tall, long-necked brachiosaurus! I was a really hungry brachiosaurus, too. So, I went to the nearest, most delicious looking tree full of leaves and began to munch. "Not bad," I thought. "If Mom saw me now, she would be so proud of me for eating my veggies!"
Suddenly, a loud roar came from the forest. I knew what that sound was before I even caught sight of Tyrannosaurus, making his way through the forest looking for prey. I was REALLY glad that he was not heading in my direction, and equally as glad that my breakfast was right there waiting for me instead of running away from me! Then, a shrill sound came from up above me. I looked up just in time to see Pterodactyl gliding overhead, bringing breakfast to her newly hatched young. "Her view must be wonderful from up there", I thought. But I knew that when I stretched my neck up far enough, I could see a tremendous distance also! I stretched way up, and I was right.
The Stegosaurus family was off in the distance, eating the plants that were close to the ground. I wondered how far it was to the ocean to try to catch a glimpse of Ichtiosaurus, the water dinosaur. My thoughts were interrupted by the roar of thunder up above me on this cloudy day. It was raining a lot lately, and every now and then the ground seemed to shake. I kind of wished I was back home in my warm bed. It wasn't long before morning came. I stretched, and thought about my dream. When Mom and Dad came in to say good morning, I couldn't wait to tell them about it. "I know what it would havebeen like if I'd been born a dinosaur." I told them. "I would want to be a brachiosaurus. I wouldn't have to hunt and kill for food, I'd be tall enough to see almost everything around me, and I don't think I'd like being outside in the rain and thunder. By the way, can we skip the eggs at breakfast time, and have some nice, green veggies with dinner tonight?" They both laughed, and I enjoyed a ride on Dad's shoulders to the breakfast table.
