Avocado Elementary-A Netscape Gold Science Project
A Netscape Gold Science Project
by Carol Langford
Overview
Can gifted school students design and create their own web pages including scanning graphics, inserting text using Netscape Navigator Gold's Editor?
What We Thought We Knew
We knew how to scan, we had not downloaded Netscape 3.01 Gold, and we had not used Adobe PhotoDeluxe in the classroom. We had never file shared before.
Questions We Had
Could we accomplish the above in our classroom?
What We Found Out from Books, the Internet, and Experts
We found out we needed more memory so we purchased another 16mb for our computer which brought us up to 24mb of Random Access Memory. We coordinated file sharing with a remote disk drive. We learned the scanning software and we learned how to use Netscape Gold through trial and error and by following the wizard prompts.
What We Found Out from Experimentation
That we could create a complete web resource in our classroom.
How We Showed What We Had Learned
This will be uploaded to a remote server and will be available to the world very shortly at this address:
