 El Dorado interned with Officer Arnold Yen, of the City of Miami Police Department Crime Scene
Investigations Unit.
El Dorado's duties at theMiami Police Department were to observe the procedures for collecting
forensic evidence including fingerprints, shoeprints, trace fibers, DNA samples, and trace
chemical identification at a typical crime screen. He also learned methods involved with
processing that evidence upon returning to the Crime Scene Investigations Unit laboratory,
as well as how to accurately record all relevant data. He was also responsible for accompanying
the CSI staff on outreach engagements, and speaking with youth programs in Miami-Dade County.
