Valencia interned at the University of Miami Ryder Trauma Centerwith the Partnership for the Study and Prevention of Violence.
This is a research program dedicated to prevent violence through research, education, and community collaboration. Valencia's supervisor,
Dr. Arboleda serves as program specialists and is responsible for data collection and entry. The goal of their program is "NOT ONE MORE CHILD SHALL DIE BY VIOLENCE."
Valencia's main focus and responsibility during her internship was to gather information on relationships and circumstances of violent deaths while working closely with the Medical examiner's office, the
Miami Dade police Department, City of Miami Police department and other law enforcement agencies in the south Florida area.
