MiaSci at Large

The Museum has an active national and international presence and is continuously seeking to expand links and partnerships, to develop and reinforce its position as a major international hub. Some of these links are through federally funded programs, like our Amazon Voyage exhibition, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) which has traveled to museums throughout the U.S. and Canada and has been seen by over a million visitors. In another of our NSF-funded programs, RISEnet, the Museum is leading a partnership with the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) and the Southeastern Consortium for Minorities in Engineering (SECME), to provide training to 10 other science centers around the country, building their capacity to encourage girls in science, technology and engineering careers.

The Museum is an active member of ASTC’s global initiatives, including Youth Inspired Challenge, a program to encourage the next generation of scientists and strengthen science learning.

Miami Science Museum is a Smithsonian affiliate, and an accredited member of the American Association of Museums, recognizing our commitment to excellence and the highest professional standards of museum operation and public service.
