James Jones Brings The Heat to the Museum

James Jones, #22 on the Miami Heat, doesn’t just want to be a star basketball player. His vision, forwarded by the James Jones Legacy Foundation (JJLF), is that “every child who participates in our programs will walk away with a learning experience that empowers them with the tools, confidence and the self-esteem to face life’s challenges and to be the best citizen they can be.” On Friday, 69 children participating in JJLF came to the Museum for free, along with #22 and his family, as part of our Open Access Grant Program through the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs. The 6th – 9th grade participated in the Energy Works field trip (the electricity show was the hight of the day), and Jones took the time to pose for a photo with Museum staff!
