Museum Outreach Team joins in for Chinese New Year

The Museum’s Community Outreach Team recently participated at the 23^rd Annual Chinese New Year celebration at Miami Dade College, Kendall Campus, welcoming in the Year of the Rabbit.  Along with a ‘Dragon Dance’, and lots of Chinese food and music, MiaSci’s team was on hand with a Bearded Dragon from our living collection, as well as live science demos. Thousands of people attend this event every year, organized by Miami-Dade College in cooperation with the College’s new Confucius Institute for Chinese language, business and culture.

“The Chinese New Year Festival is such a rich cultural event,” says Adriana Oliva, Marketing and Sales Manager at the Museum. “We enjoy attending every year and having the opportunity to showcase our Museum’s programs and activities for the community.”
