On April 28, 2011, the Museum attended Ryder’s “Take Our Children to Work Day.” Over 150 children participated, and people and organizations from the community also joined in the fun, including Bernie from the Miami Heat, City of Medley Paramedics and Fire Rescue, and a local girl scout troop. At the museum’s exhibitor table, staff demonstrated how nano technology works, and even brought out a
bearded dragon for the kids to pet and learn about.
”Both parents and kids were very intrigued by the demo and bearded dragon. We had a continuous flow of eager kids with questions about the activity and our wildlife.” – Adriana Oliva, Marketing and Events Manager for the Miami Science Museum.
Parents also learned about other upcoming events at the Museum, such as Moms Rock @ MiaSci and Big Truck Days sponsored by Ryder, as well as the Museum’s Summer Camp.
