In order to play sound or music in your computer, you need a sound card or set of chips installed in your computer. You can use headphones or speakers to amplify the sound. Most PCs have an internal speaker that can make simple sounds. Most Macintoshs come with a built in sound card so there is no ned to go out and buy one.
