Professional Development Opportunity

This two-day institute brings together early childhood educators, directors, and curriculum specialists to learn how to implement ECHOS, enhance their knowledge of early childhood science practices, and help build the nationwide ECHOS community. The fully developed preschool science curriculum consists of nine units, each containing four guided week-long science lessons that are introduced in 20-minute segments to small groups of children.

WHO:  Pre-K Teachers, Teacher's Assistants, ECE Directors and Museum Staff
WHAT:  ECHOS teaching teams will learn how to:
• facilitate guided inquiry-based ECHOS science lessons;
• integrate activities in language/literacy, math & creative arts;
• manage small group, hands-on investigations;
• develop active, engaging science areas; and
• use the ECHOS Observation Tool.
