Unit Concept:
Children will investigate seeds and seed growth, and learn about the four major parts of a plant: roots, a stem, leaves and flowers. After germinating seeds they will care for their own living plants.

Lesson:
1. Traveling Seeds: Children will learn to compare seeds by size and explore how a seed travels in the wind.

2. My Little Sprout: Children will learn that plants come from seeds and learn what a germinating seed needs to grow.

3. Roots and Stems Unite: Children will learn how roots and a stem work together to carry water and help a plant stand up.

4. Be Leaf It!: Children will examine and compare the different sizes, shapes, and color variations of leaves.
