Unit Concept:
In this physical science unit, children explore the properties of magnets and apply these properties during various activities.

Lessons:
1. Magnet vs. Magnet: Opposite sides (poles) of a magnet attract and similar sides repel.

2. Magnetic Attraction: Children will be able to classify magnets as objects that vary in strength.

3. Magnetic Fields: Children will be able to classify materials as magnetic or nonmagnetic.

4. Magnetic Tools: Children will understand that magnetic force can work without directly touching the magnetic object.
