Unit Concept:
In this physical science unit, children explore the properties of magnets and apply these properties during various activities.

Lessons:
1. What a Mess!: Opposite sides (poles) of a magnet attract and similar sides repel.

2. Moving on Up!: Children will be able to classify magnets as objects that vary in strength.

3. Which One?: Children will be able to classify materials as magnetic or nonmagnetic.

4. Unsinkable Shapes: Children will understand that magnetic force can work without directly touching the magnetic object.
