| Volcanoes and earthquakes are spectacular reminders
of an essential geologic fact: we dwell on the very thin outer shell of
a very active planet. Volcanoes themselves are always a fascinating topic
for children, and building a working model of one is a great way to begin
study. For one, model building is important in science. The model you build
in this activity will not reproduce the actual processes by which magma
reaches the surface, but it will help your child focus on the volcano as
a phenomenon of study. |
