Waz up !!!!!!!!!!! Well my name is Christian Portillo and they call me Candy Man. I am enrolled in this program called Youth Alive and also a program called S.F.W.M. which stands for South Florida Water Management. This program is really fun and we also get to learn about animals. Just about two weeks ago, I went with my mentor Jennifer Schooley to Florida Bay and we took blood samples from ospreys and terrapins. This process is called "mark and recapture". There are other trips that we have done like when we went kayaking and also when we visited the Everglades National Park. I am continuing with this program in the summer when I will get much more involved in research. |
