Hi, my name is Ivania Chavarria. People call me Ivy though. I'm 16 years old and I will be a junior in high school this fall.
I started coming to the Museum of Science in November of 1996. I joined this program called South Florida Water Management. We did a lot of exciting things such as kayaking. I had never gone kayaking before so it was a really nice experience. We also went to F.I.U. to see a dolphin that beached itself. It was a really sad experience because the dolphin was sick from pneumonia and later died. The last thing we did was go down to Florida Bay. We caught terrapins and chipped, scanned, and did many different types of measurements on them. Afterwards we recorded it all on a notebook recorder.
I think that was the most exciting thing we did all year. I had lots of fun in the South Florida Water Management. Now I am looking forward to working in the summer program.
