Adriana's Wonderful Webpage

About me

Hi, my name is Adriana and I attend Carver Middle School. I am in the 7th grade. My interests are reading, listening to music, going to the movies and acting like a freak with my frends. I love two things in this world: Kermit, the most cutest frog ever and Taylor Hanson, one of the band members of Hanson. I love rock especially Cake, BUSH and Silver chair. At school I take spanish and my elective is Japanese, so OHAYOOGOZAIMASU BACA. I guess you will never know what it means. When I grow up I want to be an opthamologist; a doctor who studies the eyes. There are two reasons why I want to do this: I have always wanted to work with the eye machines and to work with the lasers.

About Girls RISE

I also attend a program called Girls RISE. You are probably wondering what it means well thats why I am here, it means Raising Interest in Science and Engineering. I have been going for the past 3 months on every Saturday, except holidays. The program continues during the summer. We have been doing many things that include engineering and science. Some of the projects are makeing a burgular alarm and building a bridge. The bridge that my group built tied with another group in a competition. Our bridge held 100 pounds and more. We have been on two field trips. On the first one, we saw diffrent types of bridges located all over Miami. We studied the diffrent ways a bridge can be formed and how a bridge stands up and what are the diffrent reasons the Takoma Narrows bridge broke down. On the second trip we went to the beach. Not to play but to build a sandcastle. One group made a computer. If I continue into the second year, I get about $400.

How to enter Girls RISE

If you think you want to go to this program there are special qualifications: you have to be a girl (be sure to notice the diffrence between the both genders) you have to be good and interested in math and science and engineering. You will have to get a teacher recommendation and have your report card handy. For more information call the Museum of Science or send an e-mail to Jennifer Schooley(jschooley@miamisci.org). Well, I have to go. I know you will miss me but you can come back any time. And if you think your webpage is better ,all I want to say is"Sure Bob" B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-BYE.
