About me
Welcome, to my homepage. My name is Katherine and I am entering the 7th grade this school year. I plan to attend Charles R. Drew Middle School. This summer I am attending a summer program called GIRLS RISE at the Miami Museum of Science. My favorite subjects in school are: math, science, and art. I also like other subjects but slightly less. Some other things I like to do are play music on my violin, dance, sing, and draw. In my family there are 6 people including myself. The group consists of: my mom, dad, three sisters, and me. I am in the middle luckily. That's enough about me let me tell you some more info about GIRLS RISE
About GIRLS RISE
In GIRLS RISE we learn about things that deal with science and technology. Also if you are wondering what RISE stands for, it stands for Raising Interest In Science and Engineering. Unfortunately, for all of you boys out there, you can't be in this program because it is only for girls in grades 7-9. The program is divided into two sessions: they take place monthly. During each of these sessions we must work on projects dealing with engineering like the projects we are working on now which are our electric car and line tracker. For the duration of the program we also learn how to create WebPages with links and graphics, we also learn some of the basics of electric engineering like the two main kinds of circuits which are parallel and series. Those are only some of the things we do in the R.I.S.E. program.
