About
Me
My name is Santania.
I am a 13 year old teenager who was born in Port-au Prince, Haiti, and came to the United States at the age of two. My favorite subjects are math and science. When I grow up I would like to be a Biomedical Engineer, which is a new engineering field that came out. It is a combination of medicine and engineering combined. The reason I want to be a Biomedical
Engineer is because it's a new field of study. I was undecided as to whether to be an engineer or a doctor. For a long time I couldn't choose between the two. Finally after much thought and prayer, I decided to become a Biomedical engineer.
About Girls RISE
This is my second year in RISE.
It teaches us about the engineering field. We work on the computer and
we also learn about different electrical circuits. RISE is a magnificent
program in my opinion. This program is great for anyone who is devoted and wants to be a part of the engineering field when they grow up.
A great Educational Website
Psi/Fi
In Girls RISE we are in different
teams. My team is called Psi Fi. We have different jobs as well. My job
is called the test engineer. I am in charge of collecting and recording
the data during each activity. I like my group alot. I have fun working
with my team, we work together and we laugh alot. We get things done with
no problems. The best part about it is that we work together and we don't
argue. If you would like to visit our web site please check us out at our
website: Psi's Webpage
This picture was taken in the computer
lab. We had a new program called "Video Recorder". I used a FlexCam
to freeze my image in the computer. I like taking the pictures via the computer,
more than on a regular camera because I think that I look better this way.
Finally, my experience with Girls
RISE, is wonderful. I am so happy that I chose to be in this program. I would strongly recommend this program for any girl who is interested in science and engineering. In Girls RISE, you get to learn a lot about different engineering fields. I am very lucky and very happy to be in this program. The reason, I say this is that not everybody gets to be in RISE This program gives me an opportunity to get a feel for the engineering field so that I know what to expect in the future.
I know that I made a good choice
to be in this program. It enables me to pursue my career and succeed in life.
I know that I will be very successful because I have a positive outlook about my future. RISE helped me to decide on becoming a biomedical engineer.
