Girls R.I.S.E. is a program that takes place at the Miami Museum of Science. It was started to raise female interest is science and engineering. In R.I.S.E., you learn valuable skills that help you in science and engineering. You also learn about teamwork. We have to work with each other in order to finish the projects. Most of the projects we do are in teams of five or four. Just about every day we do a project. A lot of times we compete in contests against each other. One of the best contest we had was the Egg Dropping Competition. We also go on a great deal of field trips to different engineering work sites. We see the different types of engineering and women engineers. Once in a while a women engineer will come in as a guest speaker and talk about the type of engineering she does. R.I.S.E. is a good program to join if you are a girl that is interested in science or engineering. I joined because I like computers and thought I could learn about computer engineering. And now I can proudly say,"I have my own webpage."
