CARMEN'S HOMEPAGE

ABOUT ME

Welcome to my Homepage. My name is Carmen Rincon and I go to Carver Middle. I'm in the eighth grade .I am not really interested in meeting my teachers or in going to school but I have to do it or else my parents would get in a lot of trouble with the government. But then again what would I do instead of going to school and what friends would I have if all the kids in my neighborhood and everywhere else would be at school. Well anyways, back to me, I was born in Caracas, Venezuela but my parents are Colombians so I kinda like consider myself more Colombian than Venezuelan because I only spent the first two years of my life there when I couldn't really understand anything and whatever trust me it's a really long story. Anyways if you would like to know I know fluent German cause I have been studying it for five years.

ABOUT GIRLS R.I.S.E.

I bet your wondering what Girls R.I.S.E. is , well Girls R.I.S.E. is the program done by the Museum of Science and this program is run by our director Wendie James and some mentors that help us out with our work like Phuong, Gaby, Zaily and Janice. I also bet your wondering what R.I.S.E means, well it means Rising Interest in Science and Engineering. And in this program we are gonna do a lot of fun stuff( I say "are" because we just started). So far we have gone to this elementary where we did these two little projects involving series and parallel circuits and then we did this experiment called "Electrical Fires" it was this thing where you had to see how many appliances(light bulbs) could blow up a fuse. And then on Friday we went to the University of Miami where we learned about different types of engineering jobs. We have been learning stuff about the computer, how to work in it and how to make our homepage and how to put our picture on our homepages. And well thats pretty much it !!!

ABOUT WHERE I LIVE

Miami is a pretty cool and fun place to live. Cool and fun because of the entertainment, the beaches, the people from different places you get to meet, and a lot of other stuff you get to do in Miami that you can't do in a little city. The temperature in Miami is of course really hot it can reach probably up to 110 degrees here. Miami is a multicultural city. It's kinda cool being a multicultural city because you can meet a lot of people with different backgrounds and that to me is really interesting, because if I kept meeting people that were like me I'd probably die of BOREDOM.
