About me:

Hi! My name is Laura Barton. I am a student at Palmetto Middle School and in the eigth grade. I got in to the girls R.I.S.E. because my mother called the museum and asked if there was anything that would interest me in anyway .Wendie said that there was a program called girls R.I.S.E. and I said I wanted to join. My interests are singing, shopping, movies, acting, t.v. meeting people, and searching the internet. I have an older sister named Sara (she's 22 years old) and a younger brother named Will (he's 12 years old) and I'm 13 years old.

About Girls R.I.S.E.:

The word RISE comes from Raising Interest in Science and Engineering which is a program that gets girls like me involved in computers,and engineering and a little science.What we do in R.I.S.E. is we go on the internet and look up websites and homepages and other engineering related websites. We also work with circuits and making lights light up by connecting in parallel and series. Later on, we will build an electric car and a line tracker which I think will be a lot of fun.

Where I live:

I live in Miami right by the Falls,(nice and sunny).There are a lot of really cool things in Miami such as shopping malls and beaches. The really good shops are Wet Seal, Contempo, Gap, Limited, Pacific Sunwear, Basicly, everything in the Grove and Dadeland, and a lot more.Miami is a great place to visit to since you have Miami Beach and Vizcaya, and much, much more.

Things I like:

I like so many things that I can't put all of them down (so i'll only put a few). I like shopping, I like sports, especially basketball, and probably one of my most favorite things is pooh bear,( to see pictures of pooh click on the word POOH BEAR.
