TEAM MEMBER ROLES

Amanda is the Project Engineer (PE) who is in charge of all team operations. She asks other team members to work on the specific project that they were assigned by the mentor. The PE is also responsible for checking the assignment, asking questions of the mentor, and leading team discussions about both processes and results. The PE is also making sure the team follow the agenda which assign to each team at the beginning of the session by the project director.

Laura is the Test Engineer (TE) which is in charge of collecting and recording the data generated during each activity. For example, she has to record problems and results of the test on the team notebook. Especially for the car, the TE is responsible for recording any information and results of the testing process. She also reports problems at the team meeting so that the mentor and the whole team would come up with the best solution. For the final competition, The TE is also responsible for reporting the teams results to the class and to the judges for the final competition. This report will be both oral and written. The TE is also responsible for presenting any team comments on the activity.

Bonnie is the Facilities Engineer (FE) who is in charge of all the equipment and materials. The FE is responsible for collecting, storing, maintaining, and passing out all materials and equipment for the project. The FE is also in charge of all cleanup and maintenance tasks during and after the activity. However, she is not a janitor. In completing this task, the FE can move around the classroom to collect and return equipment and materials. She can also assign cleanup and maintenance tasks to other team members.

Miya is the Developmental Engineer (DE) who is in charge of designing and building the models used in the completion of the project. She can design tasks and model construction tasks to other team members. After a model is designed, the DE is responsible for developing a list of materials for constructing the model. With her best effort, she will try to come up with the best design possible. In cooperation with the FE, the DE collects the materials for the models and supervises the construction process.

Carmen is the Webpage Designer (WD) who is in charge of designing and organizing the team webpage. She can assign other team members to find the pictures or other information that she needs on the internet so that she can put them together as plan. She also get pictures from the digital or digital camera that was taken during the building the car, assembling the linetracker, and working on the webpage.

Phuong is the Team Mentor who is helping the Beta Team members. She will answer any question that Betasphere have while they are working on their projects, webpage, and other related subject. Especially for the competition, she has to make sure everything such as the team portfolio is ready.
