Graphing Rainfall

How much does it rain in your neighborhood? Use the graph below to find out.

Materials


To print this page:


  1. PLACE the mouse pointer on the File menu at the top of the screen.
  2. CLICK and HOLD the mouse button down while DRAGGING the pointer to Print.
  3. RELEASE the mouse button. The print dialog box is displayed.
  4. PRESS RETURN. The rainfall graph will begin to print.
  5. PRINT one copy of the rainfall graph for each





STUDY the following sample graph:

Instructions

  1. MEASURE the amount of rain each day with your rain gauge tool.
  2. MARK the amount of rainfall for each day on your printed rainfall graph.
  3. CONNECT the points for all days.
  4. GRAPH the rainfall in your neighborhood for several weeks. COMPARE the amount of rain from week to week. Which month had the most rain?
