As part of a 5-year mission to study the processes behind hurricane formation and intensity, NASA worked with other researchers to design two Global Hawks. These multi-million dollar unmanned aircraft can fly at 60,000 feet for up to 30 hours at a time. These aircraft are a lot bigger than you might think, with a wingspan greater than a Boeing 737!.
