Cynognathus was a powerful predator with strong jaws and sharp teeth. Like modern mammalian predators, its strong jaws were set with 3 types of teeth: incisors for cutting, long canines for stabbing and slashing, and cheek teeth for shearing. Perhaps these predators hunted in packs like wolves.
