Space Tac-Toe

How good are you?
Play the game of Tic-Tac-Toe in three dimensions. You can win by lining up the discs horizontally on any one surface, or vertically on any three surfaces.

Making connections:

Knowing where you are, or want to go in space, requires you to think in four dimensions:

  1. Up or Down
  2. Right or Left
  3. Back and Forward
  4. Time

You can define the location of anything in space if you can predict where and when it will be in each of these dimensions.

Solar-system

How long would it take to travel through the solar system in:

An automobile

A jet plane

The space shuttle

Use the time rulers in the tracks to measure the time it would take to make your trip.

Making connections:
Our solar system covers a very large area, yet it is very small when compared to the vas distances between the stars.

Weight copy

To Do:
Guess what your weight would be on the earth and then calculate how much you would weigh on Jupiter.

Making connections:

The amount of gravity on the surface of a planet or moon depends on the mass of the planet (amount of matter that is in the planet). It also depends on the distance the surface of the planet is from the center of the planet- the further away, the less gravity.
