Participating students are drawn from the museum’s UPWARD BOUND program. The Miami Museum of Science is the only science museum to be named an UPWARD BOUND Math and Science Center. Upward Bound is one of the US Department of Education's TRIO programs. The overall goal of the program is to help prepare low income, first-generation college bound students for postsecondary study in science, math, and technology related fields

- Introduction to Palm Handheld Computers
- Introduction to Imagimath
- Discussion of the ethics and responsibilities of handheld computers in the classroom
- “Football Math”, a curriculum using the Palm handheld as a graphing calculator with examples from football to illustrate a number of mathematical principles

**Summer Program (03)**

- Introduction to Palm Handheld Computers
- Introduction to Palm Based Probeware
- Using Palms with desktop/notebook computers
- Research projects using probeware
