All About Air

They Blew It...

...and won! In this race, Bigs and Littles found out that one of the principles (things that are always happen) of air is that it can move things. It is fun and easy to move an object by blowing through a straw. Here the object is to get across the finish line, but you could also try this with a maze. Notice that they're blowing in the same direction as they want the objects to move.

Test your lung capacity.

Rocket

Rockets Away!

Kids made balloon-propelled rockets. To do this, tape a paper bag to a straw. Then, hang the straw and bag from a string. Sretch the string across the room and tape it up. Blow up a balloon and let it go inside the paper bag. Notice that the balloon blows in the opposite direction as the rocket.

Webbing Around

This pair is experiencing the Museum's high-speed Internet connection. The Camp-in was a special opportunity for everyone to strut their Cyber-Stuff and share some hot tips on using the Web.
