Janis Hernandez

Janis Hernandez is the former Associate Director of the Miami Space Transit Planetarium where she lectured for 14 years to school children of all ages. Combinig her unique background in anthropology and astronomy, she brought the stars to life for thousands of Dade and Broward County students and also served as the Director of the Weintraub Observatory.  Janis and her husband, Dr. Carlos Hernandez, spent many hours with the public at the observatory sharing the beauty of the night sky and teaching families about observing the night sky. She continues to lecture on astronomical topics.
