Katharine Brass is the ecomagination Program Manager for GE Energy. Kate leads the Energy businesses' efforts with respect to defining the ecomagination product portfolio for Energy, developing strategic customer relationships, and large energy and conservation demonstration projects. She represents the environmental interests of the business with respect to national and international government affairs, global research efforts, new technology commercialization, and internal greenhouse gas reduction programs. Kate holds a Bachelors degree in Finance and Economics and a Masters in Environmental Management and Policy. She has more than 20 years of experience in sales, marketing communications and strategic planning.
ecomagination was launched by GE in 2005 to help their customers address some tough environmental challenges through technology development and deployment. Goals of ecomagination are to double revenue from the sale of cleaner technologies like wind, solar, water use and reuse, and lighting and energy star appliances; to double R&D investment; to reduce GE's own greenhouse gas footprint, and also realize a 30% energy intensity and 30% energy efficiency improvement across GE facilities; and to keep the public informed about progress made on the above fronts.
