Survival Rates and Dispersal of Bald Eagles Fledged in Florida Bay, Everglades National Park

Monitoring movements of birds of prey assists federal and state wildlife agencies in tracking and resolving potential hazards to species listed in the South Florida Multi-Species Recovery Program. Over the next decade, twenty-five eaglets will be equipped with individual satellite platform transmitting terminals (PTT) which gather location data and transmit via a satellite uplink. Modern technology allows the researchers to track the eaglets through "email" locations every three days. During the open discussion session, Brian Mealey will answer questions from the audience.
