Building the Future
The Miami Science Museum has a long record of serving the local community and providing excellence in science education, wildlife care and innovative planetarium programming. As we move forward with our planning for an exciting new Museum, we are building on these foundations and opening doors to unimaginable opportunities for people young and old.
We all learn through experiences that catch our attention, suggest new ideas and provoke our curiosity. The intelligent, interactive and eye-catching new three-story, 200,000-square-foot Museum will do just that. Every aspect of the building is designed to create one of the world’s most exciting museum experiences and stimulate our imagination. With a spacious new building, advanced digital technology, and a design that incorporates energy-saving features with Miami’s subtropical ambiance, the new Miami Science Museum will offer a truly special experience for every visitor and foster innovation and creativity throughout South Florida, helping the community to continue growing in the decades to come.
Inside and outside, discovering the rings of Saturn or the Crab Nebula in the night sky, wading through sea grass into a colorful undersea world or looking a real bald eagle in the eye these are life-changing experiences for children and adults. With its real-life marvels, interactive exhibits, and exciting learning adventures, the new Museum will stimulate the mind while touching the heart.
We have a unique waterfront location and a delightful park setting in a very special international city. Thanks to the passage of the Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond, we have $175 million secured towards the new Museum and are now beginning our major fundraising campaign.
We hope you will join us and enjoy the thrill of participating in helping our new museum emerge. Our planning is nearly complete, and now is the moment to take part in creating a new and unique experience for Miami and the world. Miami Science Museum will help open minds and your support will help us open our doors.
