NEW SCIENCE CENTER THE STAR AT LEADERSHIP CIRCLE EVENT

Museum’s leading benefactors show support for organization’s future in downtown Miami. Gillian Thomas, president of the Miami Science Museum, greeted an enthusiastic group of 80 Museum supporters, at a cocktail reception held at the Gables Estates home of longtime Museum patrons Trish and Dan Bell. Mrs. Bell is the Vice Chairman of the Museum’s Board of Trustees, and she and Mr. Bell, Chairman of the Board of Kos Pharmaceuticals, Inc., are co-chairs of the Museum’s Leadership Circle for major benefactors.

Ms. Thomas reported on the significant progress the Museum has made in 2003 towards bringing the vision for a new museum in Museum Park, at Bicentennial Park in downtown Miami, which includes having raised over $13 million in private funding for the project. Echoing the sentiments of many of the guests, Mrs. Bell commended Ms. Thomas on her outstanding leadership and commitment to making the vision for a new museum a reality. “The new museum will greatly expand the educational impact our organization has on the community. This is an exciting time for the Museum of Science and Miami,” said Bell.
