December is Mars Month at the Museum

Mars Will Be Its Closest, Biggest And Brightest This Holiday Season Until 2016!
It is officially "At Opposition" * on Christmas Eve, will be brighter than the brightest star and will take its highest path across the sky until 2040!
To celebrate this event the Planetarium at The Miami Science Museum will be hosting Mars lectures in the Planetarium and special Mars observing in our Weintraub Observatory on Laser Fest nights Friday, Dec. 28 and Saturday Dec. 29.

8:00pm "Mars At Its Best" Star Show. Also showing: Star Gazer's Mars episode, Planetarium tour of the night featuring Mars, and How to Use Your New Telescope? (FREE) 8:30pm - 11:00pm Observatory Open (weather permitting) - Come and check out Mars yourself! (FREE)
