Plant Biology Spring Camp: March 23 - March 27, 2015
Pre-K (at least 4 years old) - 5th Grade
Theme: Plant Biology
Stop and smell the flowers in this interactive week long camp about the importance of the living organisms that surround us.
Monday, March 23rd: Tree Traits
Big, small, wide, and narrow, trees come in all shapes and sizes, just like us. Excite your senses and explore the sights, sounds, scents, textures and tastes that make a tree, a tree in this sensory exploration all about your favorite tree traits.
Tuesday, March 24th: Plants, the great, and the amazing!
From the nutrient rich soil to our dining table and everything in-between, we owe plants our life! Learn about how plants make oxygen (which we need to breathe) and how we use plants for food, medicine and even clothing.
Wednesday, March 25th: Plant Adaptations
From dry deserts to under the sea, plants can survive and thrive in the world's most challenging environments. Discover how plants have changed and adapted to their ecosystem's conditions to become the diverse range of plants we see on Earth today.
Thursday, March 26th: Inside a Blossom
Flowers look pretty and smell great, but do you know what makes up a flower blossom? Dissect the inside of a blossom to discover the function of individual floral parts, and examine the pistil, stamen, and even the sticky stigma.
Friday, March 27th: The Root of the Matter
Dig beneath the surface to explore the intricate root system of plants. From preventing erosion to filtering our water, unearth the benefits of a plant's root system for all living things!
Plant Biology Camp Details
Classes run from 9:00am to 3:30 pm. Before and after care are available.
$45 (Members)/ $55 (Non-members) per child per day
$200 (Members)/ $250 (Non-members) for a full week
Before Care: $5 per child per day (7:45am-9:00am)
After Care: $12 per child per day (4:00pm-6:00pm)
*Please note that refunds are not given for camp classes. If for some reason a child needs to withdraw from or cannot attend a session that they have been registered for, a Museum Credit will be issued. This credit is good for one year from the date of issue and may be applied to any camp classes or towards a Museum Membership.

*Any registrations received after 4:00 pm the day before a camp program (Fridays for classes starting on a Monday) will not be processed.
