Bubble Domes
Materials
- one quart water
- 1/4 cup liquid soap (Joy or Dawn)
- 1 teaspoon karo syrup or glycerine
- plastic cup half full of bubble solution
- straw
- paper towel
Preparation:
Gently mix together the water, liquid soap
and the karo syrup. Only stir until mix as a solution, you do not want
to create suds
Procedure:
- Spoon out two spoonfuls of bubble solution of
the table in front of you.
- Use your hand to create a wet circle of about
the size of your hand when your fingers are spread wide apart. Then clean
your hand with a paper towel.
- Dip straw into bubble solution then place the
soapy end of the straw so that it is just touching the surface of the table
with the circle of bubble solution. Blow Gently through the dry end of
the straw to create a bubble dome. Remove the straw slowly and carefully
so that it does not pop the bubble dome.
- Experiment with different bubble dome sizes
- See if you can create these patterns:
