Miami Eats

At the 2nd Annual Miami Eats event, we invite the community to share in the art and science of Miamiís food and fitness scene. Visitors can learn healthy new recipes through cooking demos and workshops, interact with special guest chefs, explore new technologies in aero-, hydro-, and aqua-ponics, stimulate all their senses, get moving with fun breakout exercise sessions, and give back to the community through a food drive to benefit the local community.

MCCJ Film Series: Parallel Lives (2010)

Join us for this documentary detailing the lives of community historians Dr. Arva Moore Parks and Dr. Dorothy Jenkins-Fields, who experienced growing up in our community in two very different ways but eventually found their professional and personal connection here in Miami, and went on to build a life-long friendship. Join us for a post film discussion with Dr. Dorothy Jenkins-Fields and Dr. Arva Moore Parks as they discuss the film and their experiences in Miami. Preceding the discussion, visitors will have time to explore the RACE exhibition. Admission is $6.00
